A small convenience store/newsagents is close by as is the village Post Office.

There is a good selection of small cafes, a Fish & chip shop, two excellent restaurants (The Cornish Range and 2 Fore Street. A good wholesome  pub meal can be had at The Ship Inn.

The two main pubs in the village are The Ship Inn and The  Coastguard Hotel which is open to non residents. Also The British Legion Club gives temporary membership to visitors.

There are several gift shops and art galleries and the local potter Essex Tyler has his small studio just a few doors away.

Just 100 yards up Raginnis Hill can be found the famous Wild Bird Hospital and Sanctuary.

For churchgoers  there is Paul  church just a mile north of  Mousehole and St Clement's chapel just 150 yards from the cottage.

Penzance is the rail terminus from all major cities and the local bus service to Mousehole via Newlyn runs every 30 minutes during the day and hourly after 6pm.

It is possible to unload at the cottage, but as Brook Street is narrow and is not a through road, it is best to reverse from South Cliff road. Parking is in either the harbour car parks close by or in the Cliff car park, approx. 35o yards away. Current rates are £3 daily for harbour and £2 for Cliff car park.
